Suns v Jets Debrief & Final Round details
Thursday, 29 July 2010 14:27

On behalf of the Club, we would like to thank all of the brave souls who ventured out to Seymour Shaw Reserve last night to watch the charity match between the Suns and the Jets. The game was played in terrible conditions with constant rain.  Nonetheless, a sizable crowd was on hand to watch the game and to help the Club in its efforts to raise funds for the St.George Public Hospital.

Newcastle proved too strong on the night winning 4-0. A special thank you to Branko Culina, the Jets players and the Newcastle club for the game which was played in good spirits.  We wish the Jets all the best for the upcoming A-League season.  More match details can be found at both www.footballnsw.com.au and www.newcastlejets.com.au

ROUND 22 NSW PREMIER LEAGUE AND POST GAME FESTIVITIES 1 AUGUST 2010

This Sunday will see Rockdale City Suns return to Seymour Shaw Reserve for the final round game against Sutherland Sharks.  A win for the Suns and a loss for Marconi will see Rockdale sneak into the top 5.  Given the boys still have plenty to play for, we hope to see as many Suns supporters as possible at Seymour Shaw to cheer them on. First grade kick off is 3pm.

A reminder that there will also entertainment at Bicentennial Park this Sunday culminating with the return of the players following the game against Sutherland and the drawing of   in the Club's 2010 raffle.  You can still purchase raffle tickets ahead of Sunday night's draw. For any enquiries, please contact one of your Suns Committee members.  Every dollar helps!

Finally, we would like to wish our Club Captain Pece Apolevski all the best as he walks down the aisle this Sunday.  Whilst Peewee won't be playing this Sunday, his contribution to the Club has been immense and we wish him all the best for his big day.

ROCKDALE CITY SUNS V NEWCASTLE JETS- THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Tuesday, 27 July 2010 09:13

A reminder that Rockdale City Suns will be taking on the Newcastle Jets at Seymour Shaw Reserve Wednesday 28 July 2010. Kick off is 8pm.  Proceeds from the match will be donated to the StGeorge Public Hospital.  A fantastic cause and an opportunity to see the high flying Suns against A-League opposition.

The game comes days after one of the Suns' best performances of the season when they defeated Marconi Stallions 2-0 to keep alive the Club's slim hopes of playing finals football.  It was a fantastic effort from the boys in what was the last competitive fixture to be played at Bicentennial Park for season 2010. Both goals came in the second half from the boot of Adem Kir and a close range header from Marino Musumeci.

The Suns play their final NSW Premier League regualr season fixture this Sunday against Sutherland Sharks at Seymour Shaw Reserve. Kick off is at 3pm.  The boys would love to see as many Suns supporters there as possible to cheer them on. A reminder also that there will be a function after the game back at the Club House.

Final Home Game- 25 July 2010 vs Marconi
Tuesday, 20 July 2010 13:56

Last Saturday night's battle against Bonnyrigg White Eagles saw Rockdale secure its 12th draw of the season thanks to Adem Kir's last minute equaliser.  The result leaves Rockdale still in the hunt for finals football albeit with only a slim chance.

Rockdale has proven week in week out this year that the Club can match it with the competition heavyweights. This Sunday marks the Club's last regular season home game and on that note we welcome the players and staff of Marconi to Bicentennial Park.

We hope to see as many Suns supporters as possible at fortress Bicentennial this Sunday to make it a true celebration of what has been a very encouraging season 2010.
